Next Naloxone is an online opioid overdose responder training site that includes mail-based naloxone distribution in New York State. We are a registered Opioid Overdose Prevention Program (OOPP) dedicated to ensuring access to naloxone regardless of one’s ability to travel, self-advocate, or afford the life-saving medication.
To expand naloxone access, Next Naloxone has affiliate partnerships with organizations in California, Florida, Ohio, Maine, Arkansas, Georgia, North Carolina, Indiana, Virginia, Connecticut, Michigan, Arizona, Hawaii, Montana, Utah, and Iowa. If you are from one of these states, you can enroll on our platform. Look for an email within 48 hours of completing your enrollment to learn details about the supplies that will be mailed to you.
Next Naloxone is designed for people who can not access naloxone through pharmacies, syringe exchange programs, or by other means.
Before I found this organization I remember people running around looking for stuff to help. Now it is available if needed because I have passed it out to people around me who need it in case of emergencies. Thank y'all because those people we have helped save are someone's mother, father's, sister, or brothers. Someone wants them back home.
I’ve personally used Narcan, on 12 different occasions for overdoses. Some were friends, some were not. Being a nurse, and seeing everything I’ve experienced, I wouldn’t feel right not carrying it. No matter who it is, that person has someone who loves them, and doesn’t want to lose them. Some people take that one chance as their wake up call, and they run with it!!!
Due to this program I have saved my boyfriend's life numerous times and am now happy to report that he is in a methadone program and doing well. Working a good job paying his bills has his own apt./responsibilities. A lot of ppl are quick to give up on addicts and say to just let us die.. Well it's cuz of kind hearted ppl like you all that run these programs that a lot of us get 2nd an 3rd chances but we do recover.. Drug use/overdose is still a big problem in my city and I will always continue to do my part to help an addict in need (without enabling). I try to keep narcan on me at all times and educate/raise awareness about harm reduction and MAT.
In my community, overdoses are rampant and NOT MENTIONED in any of our local media... Radio, cable, news papers. Our tourist town is plagued by overdoses ans so many deaths occur and NO ONE is aware. Id like to save as many people as I can (I try to keep Naloxone on me at ALL TIMES! In my car, my home, my purse etc..) We have NO programs near me that I am aware of that can supply people with Naloxone. This program is important to me because I have saved a life. I thank God that your program allowed me to do so.
